  •  You can help by giving us a rough size of the door you are after. (The height and width of the
existing opening) or send us your building plans. Don’t worry if you can’t do this.
  • Or give us a call on 078895959
  • If you like, you can dispose of this yourself or Craftwork Garage Doors can take it away for you if required for an additional cost. Please let us know if this is required.
  • Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the driveway and that the garage is cleared to allow room for install. If you are not able to clear the garage, please let us know BEFORE install date as we can advise exactly how much space is required for your particular door.
  • Please also ensure that there is power to the garage within 10m.
  • You can do this but it is advisable to use a qualified Garage Door installer who can install the door quickly and most importantly, safely. Garage Door springs should only be adjusted by a qualified installer as these are under extreme tension and the correct tension is required for efficient running of the motor (all doors and motors not installed by an approved installer
    carry no warranty)
  • Craftwork garage Doors uses Insulation with Graphite GPS (closed cell technology).
  • Closed cell foam is made up of cells that are completely closed. The cells are pressed together which means air and moisture are unable to get inside. Because of this, closed cell foam is much more rigid and stable than open cell foam.
  • R-value is it’s resistance to heat flow. Closed cell foam has a higher R-value than open cell foam. This higher rating makes closed
cell foam better at keeping heat in or out of a structure.
  • If there is no power you will need to disengage the motor from the door so that you can open the door manually.
  • For a SECTIONAL DOOR, pull the rope that you will find attached to the motor trolley. After you have done that, you should be able to manually open and close your door. (if you have a low headroom, you may be required to pull the top panel back first before lifting the rest of the panels. When your power is back on, pull the rope in the direction away from the door. This will reset the lock on the traveller and then simply run the motor and it should catch back into place (if not move the door by hand to re-engage it back into place).
  • For a ROLLER DOOR, pull the door release cord by the motor. You can then operate your door manually.
When the power comes back on, simply just pull the cord again and the run the motor.
  • Servicing is required to ensure all parts are working well over time. This will maintain any warranty that you have.
  • Servicing is advised between 9-12months after install and then again annually.
  • Spring naturally loose some tension over time (particularly if you have a big or heavy door)  and maintaining the correct tension will ensure your motor isn’t working harder than needbe.

  •  NO grease or oil should ever be applied in the tracks.
  • If there is a squeaking noise coming from the tracks, it is most likely from the wheels or hinges.
  • Wheels need to be re-packed by a qualified installer.
  • A light squirt of lithium grease can be applied on the ball bearings of the wheels.
  • On Roller Doors you can use silicone spray in the tracks. These need to be wiped before running the door again.
  • NO grease or oil should be applied.
  • If you live by the coast or the chain looks like it is dry/rusting you can apply a very thin light layer of oil on the chain.
  • Silicone spray can be used on the pole. Any silicone residue should be wiped away before running the motor again.
  • Craftwork Garage Doors recommends that only CD50 oils or similar are applied to the timber.
  • This needs to be done within 24 hours after install and again at a minimum of every 12 months.
  • It is advisable to re-coat your door after a period of bad weather especially if your door is exposed to the prevailing wind and rain.
  • Craftwork Garage Doors does not advise staining or painting timber in dark colours. Doing so will void warranty.
  • Cracking, warping, cupping and knots are not covered under warranty as these are natural occurrences with timber.
  • Be careful not to apply your coating too thickly.
  • Be sure to follow the instructions of the coating you have purchased to use on your door.
